Phoenix

Image
Image Credits: Pinterest   From the rubble of broken dreams,     And the fumes of burning wishes, Like a phoenix, I will rise again. I may die a thousand deaths, From the jagged knives that roll off your lips, And your gut-wrenching actions, May reduce me to ashes, But from the dying embers will come my rebirth.  The pouring rain, The frightening deluge, May douse my flames,  But all I need is one spark, To ignite my fire. You cannot kill my spirit,  No, my soul is not for you to break, For like the phoenix, that is reborn, A new day shall come for me to take.

Thunderous hush.

Silence is broken, by thunderous voices.   Hard to differentiate between the piercing noises. A sudden hush descends into the space, Now silence is suffocating, yet a saving grace. Slowly, gradually, there  appears to be a normal. Words exchanged, anything but informal.  Day turns to noon, noon turns to dusk, Come tomorrow, a better day I trust.
