Chasing Sunsets
*Trigger Warning: Certain words could be triggering to some.
Slash marks traced your arm,
Sketches of a life you couldn't show.
You struggled with the image in the mirror,
Yet you were never alone in this art.
Behind the darkness,
Lay a shattered soul.
But the scars you carried,
Weren't yours alone.
What was it like inside your head?
Did they tell you you weren’t enough?
That your life didn’t matter?
Were they so loud that you couldn't fight back?
If only you could've seen you were more,
If only you could've seen it through.
I wish your mind hadn’t hurt you so,
I wish you hadn’t hurt in every way.
I know I can never do you justice,
If we hadn’t been strangers to one another,
I’d have told you a thousand times to stay,
To walk away from that lonely place,
To turn away from the noose that called you.
Maybe your bad days outnumbered the good,
And your silent cries were swallowed whole.
Were your final moments filled with dizzying seconds,
Or wrapped in a quiet calm?
You lived your life like a maze,
Chasing fleeting moments and sunsets,
But please tell me,
Beyond this world that exists without you,
Did you finally catch up to those skies of orange, yellow, and crimson?
Woww❤❤
