Chasing...
And I've been chasing the outstretched sky,
Trying to capture vastness in these hands.
I've fallen apart under evening crimsons,
Will I find my way back when blackness envelopes the universe?
They say these words crawl out of the depths,
Of unfinished business,
Of festering wounds,
Bubbling over until they explode.
They say in the deepest trenches of the mind,
Colluding demons dance frantic around a fire,
Throwing in buried memories, hidden feelings, suppressed desires,
Until the flames lick the ceilings of the tangible.
They talk and speak and yap and groan,
They yell and curse and play at words,
But somewhere in this universe,
A soul comes back with gentle concern.
And I've been running after clouds,
Trying to float through life on purity.
I've jumped high and sunk low,
But will I ever burn in my own light of surety?
