rock bottom

You try to cover up your mistakes,

You try to convince yourself you’re okay.

You think things will eventually blow away,

What happens when they don’t?

You’re losing track of time,

You’re skipping things passing by,

You’re trying to find reasons to explain,

Yet all that comes out, leads to more blame.

Everything you say comes out wrong,

Everything you text, spells out wrong,

You’re trying so hard to stitch up damages,

But what happens when the gap you’re trying to sew,

Is being torn apart by the one you can’t lose?

What happens when you hit rock bottom?

And you’re clawing at the dirt to climb your way out,

And every time you think you’re almost there,

You lose your grip and fall back into the cold, dark pit.

What happens when you call out for help,

And the only voices you hear, are the echoes of your own shouts,

The screams deafening you,

You, wishing you could end this misery.

What do you do, when a million tears stream down your face,

And all you see when you look into a mirror, is disgrace.

And the way you act is seen as a moody mess, in a normal place.

So, tell me, what do you do when you hit rock bottom?

What do you do when your mind’s all bashed up,

And your heart keeps cracking every few seconds.

When you can no longer walk around with that fake smile plastered on your face,

And all you can do, is draw your knees up to your chin, and bury your face in between.
