Fragments of Space
split skin bleeding raw
aching for mother’s warm lap
lying six feet down
***
meadow of daisies
newlyweds share blood-stained vows
bullet through the head
***
gazing empty eyes
bat-signal etched into skin
no one to answer
***
fires ravaging
desolate ash-choked acres
forget-me-nots bloom
***
lips on tattooed skin
a society sneering
a dog wags its tail
***
bloody footprints trail
shattered glass piercing the soul
eyes fall with the night
***
a fleeting caress
moonlight plays with the curtains
stars flicker awake
